Chang Thailand ITF Junior G4 (week 2) Champion Matsuda Misaki

Hello everyone!
Last week I had the privilege to briefly oversee four ITF Junior players from Japan.  During the second week, Matsuda Misaki (photo: right) won her way from the qualifier and into the main draw ultimately defeating Khim Igulpas (PHI) [1] 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 in the finals. My first impression about Misaki was her on-court smile and powerful ground strokes especially her two-handed backhand.

Summer Junior Tennis @ AISB Soi 20

Hello everyone we've kicked started the junior tennis program for the summer. Eight enthusiastic and bright K2 and Y1 students have joined the class. Today we began by understanding keywords such as bounce catch, bounce pass, bounce hit, and rally. The kids caught on quickly and are eager to continue the bounce hitting where they finished.  Getting the timing is a bit tricky at first, but by the end of next weeks lesson more and more students with be able to get it down. We called the game, "Soccer Tennis" today which was hitting the ball over the net and scoring into the soccer goal! It was creative and fun!

Week 2: Junior tennis AISB soi 20 campus

Today was week two for junior tennis at AISB soi 20 campus. We really kept the energy going in 36 degree weather through out the entire 45 minute program. Today we practiced our forehand, backhand, and finished the day with the game called 'jailbreak.' It was the first time playing the game and I hope it will catch on for next week. I am amazed with the progress I see from the students from last term Ava, Nishka, Amber, and William. They have all improved!

Week 2: Junior Tennis ASIB soi 31 campus

Today we learned how to play doubles challenger. After our basic warm-up and ground strokes we went into the game. Two champions are standing across the opposite side of the net, while five challengers rotate using the hula hoops. It was fun watching everyone feel the nerves of getting the ball back across the net and into the yellow line area. Stay tuned for next week!

After School Junior Tennis @ AISB Soi 31 week 7

At soi 31 we are using the red ball stage 3 and it has been great! The children are able to make better contact at waist height and able to control the ball better opposed to hitting with a regular tennis ball. Today along with our review we practiced moving back using side step and then hitting the ball. Everyone understood the 'concept' very well!! The rallies are becoming a bit longer during the points.

'I look forward to seeing everyone again next week!'

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello everyone its Matsushita here.
February 14th (sat) is Valentine's Day.
I personally look forward to this day every year. (laugh)

The day of romance we call Valentine's Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has its origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia.

The west created the culture of exchanging cards, candy, gifts, or flowers with their special valentine. In Japan, starting from around the 1970's was when females would present gifts to men in a form of chocolate for Valentine's Day.

In the APF cafe, we have arranged complementary cookies and coffee.
Please enjoy the moment while at APF.

Lately I love to travel around the city to find small coffee shops.
The ones that are small and not too busy are the cafes I love the most.
